SCOPE OF WORK
These stations automate build process for two different battery packs. One for thermal interface material and the second for foam and epoxy application.
SOLUTION
Robotic Cells Two separate work cells: one for thermal interface material application, one for foam and epoxy. Designed for future models in mind.
Mobile Carts A cart and docking system were designed with exchangeable fixture tops, allowing battery packs to move between operations on a rolling worktable.
Vision Verification Camera-based position verification combined with laser height sensing, correcting for minor cart misalignment before material is applied.
Robotic Dispensing System Custom end-of-arm tooling for each material type.
Two dedicated robotic cells, one for thermal interface material and one handling both foam and epoxy application.
Mobile battery carts functioning as rolling worktables, moving packs between operations without a fixed conveyor.
Exchangeable fixture tops on each cart, designed for quick changeover to future battery pack sizes.
Lift-table cart docks with locating pins for repeatable X-Y positioning and a hard stop for consistent Z height.
Robot-mounted camera inspection with automatic micro-positioning correction before material is applied.
Laser height sensing to confirm Z-axis position independent of the camera system.
Dedicated end-of-arm tooling for each material type, keeping application hardware isolated between processes.
Fully guarded robot cells with interlocked doors and cell status indicator lighting.
HMI-based cell control with integrated emergency stop at each station.
